At 233 Roosevelt Ave, Elks Lodge 2235 has been a fixture in Carteret long enough that generations of the same families have walked through its doors. Members gather here not just for meetings, but for the kind of unhurried conversation and genuine connection that is harder to find than it should be. Rated 4.6 out of 5 across dozens of reviews, the Lodge draws consistent praise for its atmosphere and the quality of the events it hosts.

The hall itself is a point of local pride. Guests who attended a recent family reunion described the space as beautiful, and that tracks with what the Lodge has always offered: a clean, well-kept venue where milestone moments feel appropriately special. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has a national mission rooted in charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity, and Lodge 2235 carries that mission into everyday life in Carteret through fundraisers, scholarship programs, and community events.

If you have driven down Roosevelt Avenue and wondered what goes on behind those doors, the answer is simpler than you might expect: neighbors looking after neighbors, a tradition that has outlasted trends because it actually works.

What We Offer

The Lodge is available for private event rentals, making it a go-to option for family reunions, milestone birthday parties, anniversaries, memorial receptions, and organizational gatherings. The space accommodates larger groups comfortably, and the setting gives events a formal-but-warm character that banquet halls and restaurant private rooms rarely match.

Beyond rentals, Elks Lodge 2235 offers full membership in the national BPOE organization, opening the door to weekly social events, holiday celebrations, community volunteer opportunities, and access to a nationwide network of Elks lodges. Members also benefit from the Lodge's ongoing scholarship and charity programs, which direct real dollars back into the Carteret community each year.

For prospective members or event inquirers, reaching out early is recommended, especially for weekend dates, which book quickly given the Lodge's standing reputation in the area.

"I recently reached out to Elks Lodge 2235 in Carteret, NJ to inquire about pricing for an event. Unfortunately, my interaction with Kim was extremely disappointing. When I asked about pricing, she refused to provide me with any information unless I had a specific date in mind. I found this to be unhelpful and unclear. As a vendor who frequently recommends venues to clients, I was shocked by Kim's unprofessional demeanor. When I mentioned my profession and expressed my intention to share my experience with others, she became defensive and stated that she didn't need my help. She even went so far as to say that she wouldn't provide pricing information to me, which I found to be unacceptable. To make matters worse, when I informed her that I would be leaving a review about our interaction, her response was 'please do.' This lack of concern for customer satisfaction and blatant disregard for potential business is alarming. Overall, my experience with Elks Lodge 2235 and Kim's customer service was appalling. As a business, it's essential to provide helpful and courteous service to potential clients, regardless of their profession or intentions. I would not recommend this venue to anyone based on my interaction with Kim."

"Really nice venue that holds about 150 ppl. the hall looks really nice and it looks new. About $650 to rent with $300 security deposit. Must sweep and mop the floor after the event. They give you ample time to set up which is really nice! Party must end at 11pm. I love the fact that there is a backyard so you can have an additional activity outdoors weather permitting. My sister had a mini petting zoo outdoors. You can bring your own food, drinks and alcohol. Kim is really nice and easy to work with."
